COMMERCIAL CONTROLS
Pricing & fees
Control the customer-facing service charge and the operator distance fee. Test changes before commercial launch.
LICENSING & BOOKING RECORDS
Compliance
Monitor operator eligibility and produce a council-ready booking register.
COUNCIL / PRODUCTION READINESS
Launch controls
These controls make it obvious what is configured, what is still awaiting sign-off, and what must stay off during a live council inspection.
A green software check is evidence of configuration, not a statement that a council or regulator has approved Ask4Ride.
COUNCIL FARE COMPLIANCE
Verified fare rules
Version council tariff data by effective date. These rules apply only where the vehicle is in the council maximum-fare regime: taxis and private-hire cars with a verified fitted taximeter.
OPERATOR ATTENTION QUEUE
Compliance reviews
Anything requiring a licensing decision appears first. Review it here without touching the database.
BOOKING REGISTER
Council-ready booking records
AUDIT REGISTER
Administrative decision history
Search the live audit trail or download a complete filtered CSV for inspection.
AREA CONTROL
Operating-area requests
Operators can request changes, but only Admin can approve active coverage.
CUSTOMER CARE
Formal complaints
Review, respond and retain a complete complaint record.
DATA RIGHTS
Privacy requests
Track customer and operator access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection requests.
DEVELOPMENT WORKSPACE
Test accounts & pre-launch testing
Run the full customer → operator → admin workflow without opening public bookings. Test activity is isolated from commercial reporting and the council booking register.
Only database-flagged test accounts can bypass pre-launch while Development Test Mode is enabled. Never use these accounts for a real passenger journey.
3 ISOLATED PERSONAS
Customer, operator and admin test accounts
Credentials are generated and rotated only when Admin explicitly creates/refreshed the test personas. Passwords are never embedded in production source.
FIRST-TIME SETUP
Can't create the accounts?
If the database has not yet received the v22 schema, prepare it here and then create the accounts automatically.
DISPATCH ALGORITHM LAB
6 isolated bot operators
Create controlled near, far, high-capacity, schedule-conflict and shift-off operators. They are test-only and never enter commercial reporting or public availability.
RECOMMENDED TEST
End-to-end ride workflow
- Sign in to the customer portal with the test mobile number and create a booking.
- Open the operator portal in another browser/incognito window and turn the test shift ON.
- Send a quote, accept it as the customer, then test ride messages.
- Progress through en route → arrived → passenger journey → completed.
- Return to Admin to inspect the test ride, reports and audit trail.
PRODUCTION READINESS
Production checks
Critical service, security and deployment checks first. Use the section bar below to move through the longer health workspace.
LIVE MAP PLATFORM
Mapbox + Ably
Mapbox handles the interactive maps, address-level routing, road distance and ETA. Ably streams the assigned driver location to the customer in real time. Credentials belong in api/_private/secrets.php; never paste the Ably API key into browser JavaScript.
AUTHENTICATED EMAIL
SMTP setup
Save mail credentials only after Ask4Ride successfully logs into the SMTP server and sends a real test message. The mailbox password is stored only in the protected api/_private directory and is never returned to the browser.
